Who can apply for funding?

Dancers' Career Development offers retraining and business start-up grants to all eligible professional dancers in the United Kingdom, whatever their artistic background:

• Company dancers
• Indepedent dancers
• Ethnic & Folk dancers
• Commercial dancers
• Small & medium scale company dancers
• Film/TV & Music Video dancers
• Cruise ship dancers

Awards are granted by the DCD Company Division to support retraining plans submitted by eligible dancers of its nine contributing member companies. The DCD Independent Divission supports all other eligible dancers who have performed outside these companies.

All practical, educational and emotional support services offered by DCD are free of charge and accessible to all professional dancers in the United Kingdom. However, to become eligible for funding from either the Independent Division or Company Division dancers have to fulfil a set of given criteria outlined further in the Eligibility section of this website.
