Dancers’ Career Development (DCD) has been supporting professional dance for over 35 years. We help dancers to make the often-difficult transition from professional dancing to a new career by giving them the confidence and skills they need to keep working beyond dance.

DCD would like to send their congratulations and best wishes to DCD Awardee, Sarah Warsop, who is enjoying continued success as a Designer and Choreographer.
Sarah is working on a commision from Siobhan Davies Dance with Artist Tracey Rowledge which will be premiered in 2011. Sarah has also gained Arts Council funding to develop a new collection of jewellery based on the movement she has choreographed for the new commission. Congratulations to DCD Awardee Cécile Bushidi!
DCD would like to congratulate Cécile Bushidi, a DCD Awardee, on wonderful results in her second year studying a BA in History and African Studies. Cécile plans on undertaking an MA in History, with a focus on Dance in African and among Afro-Americans. Everyone at DCD sends congratulations and best wishes to Cécile!

Congratulations to Matthew Hunt on gaining a BS (Hons) Information Technology and Computing!
Matthew danced with Northern Ballet Theatre for ten years before receiving an award from DCD in 2003. Matthew gained a 2:1 and recieved 92% for his last exam and 94% for the course work, graduating at the Barbican in September. All at DCD send their congratualtions and best wishes to Matthew!

On Monday 24th July 2010, DCD, The Clore Leadership Programme and the Paul Hamlyn Foundation hosted the 'New Directions' Symposium at the Southbank Centre. A total of 80 delegates and speakers attended the event which brought together dancers, arts managers, company representatives and many successfully re-trained dancers. Everyone at DCD sends their congratulations to DCD awardee Henry St Clair
Henry was a professional dancer for 14 years, dancing with English National Ballet and the Royal Ballet. Having recieved DCD support, he has achieved very impressive results in his first semester studying Economics and Politics at London Metropolotian University. Henry now runs a Massage businessSt Clair Massage Discounts are available for students and professional dancers. Congratulations Henry!

Isabel McMeekan is holding adult ballet classes and is availlable for private tuition for adults or children through her company 'Everybody Ballet'

Isabel was a professional dancer for 14 years, dancing with Birmingham Royal Ballet and spent six years with The Royal Ballet, where she was a first soloist. She now runs 'Everybody Ballet' which runs ballet classes for adults and is also available for private tuition for adults or children. DCD Success Stories and reduced rates for professional dancers!
DCD would like to congratulate former Birmingham Royal Ballet principal and DCD Awardee Monica Zamora on the continued success of her studio, Golborne Place which she describes as “an urban escape”. The studio offers reduced rates for professional dancers. Tom Sapsford, formerly a dancer with The Royal Ballet and DCD Awardee, has obtained a First Class Honours degree in Classics at Bristol University and won the department’s Latin prize. Tom is presently learning ancient Greek before he starts his Ph.D. at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles at the end of August 2010. Congratulations Tom! DCD invites applications for 2010 Bursaries
We are delighted to announce that DCD is currently inviting applications for its annual Ned Sherrin Bursary, Maude Lloyd & Rudolf Nureyev Bursary and the Wallace Potts Bursary. The deadline for all bursaries is 5pm on Wednesday 1st September 2010.

‘Bloomsbury Boys’ win Silver Grenfell Medal at the 2010 RHS Chelsea Flower Show
We are delighted to announce that Mark Welford and Steven Wicks of Bloomsbury Flowers, in collaboration with Kit Kemp, Designer/Owner of Firmdale Hotels, have been awarded a Silver Grenfell Medal at the 2010 RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
